EXAM RESULTS

Exam results got released today. I'm pretty happy with my results. It's my best semester so far, and I was the busiest in the last semester, having worked 2 full days, volunteered 1 day and had 3 days of uni, I think that's a pretty good job. :)

DANGR.

I want to feel a rush.
Close your eyes and take my hand.
We'll fall together.
Let's lose control, live on the darker side.
Heartbeat racing, just want to let go.
Hold your breath, crash through the waves.
Let's get lost, tumble through the fire.
Take a chance before we turn to ash.

SERIAL PODCAST

Hello!
From the title, this post is going to be about one of the most - actually probably the most popular podcast that is being listened to right now. So I'm going to start with how I found out about Serial. So I asked my sister if she could feed my post Gone Girl obsession (if you haven't seen the movie yet, read the book, because the book is so much better than the movie), and she suggested Serial. So to let you guys know, I have never listened to a podcast aside from the musical kinda (ie. Nicky Romero, Hardwell, Gareth Emery).

In the most lay-man terms possible, Serial is about a murder of a 18 year old senior and her ex-boyfriend had been convicted of first degree murder. The narrator of the podcast gets contacted by friends of the accused to look into the story as they believe there are aspects of the story that don't add up. In addition, the lawyer who defended was prosecuted for taking money and now actually conducting her job properly and ended up getting debarred. So there's this whole question of whether he was represented properly. What's interesting about this case is the lack of evidence, pretty much one person's story against another. Anyway, I think what's so gripping about this podcast is that you get to play detective and you get to set up profiles and try to figure out who's side you're on.

You can find Serial on iTunes and download it for free - note it has to be listened to in order. Alternatively you can also listen to it on their website at here. :) I am obsessed and listened to all 8 episodes in less than 24 hours, mind you I had an exam yesterday too.

PS - Not sure if I even have followers who will give this a go. But hey, I really enjoyed writing this post. :)

Stay smiling. :)

LIFE UPDATE.

HELLO! :)
Just an update with my US trip, I have officially finished booking all flights and accommodation. I am super excited and proud of myself that I've been able to plan and organise and save my income to purchase all my flights and accommodation. I have officially booked 13 flights/hotels in total. I initially thought that it was going to take me longer to get all that sorted, so now I can focus on planning my itinerary and saving up spending money!

On another note, it's nearly exam period again, it starts for me in about 3 weeks.  I've still got assignments to hand in, so I haven't really started studying yet. But hopefully I can get that done soon. I've been doing a lot of research on prostitution law for my briefing paper, so much so that Google now has ads that say "Don't pay for a prostitute, get one for free".

I've also started listening to EDM today, well I'm starting to get back into it. My love for Nicky Romero. As tragic as it sounds, it's like I'm having a rave in my room. If you haven't already, I totally recommend listening to Nicky Romero's Tomorrowland 2014 Live Set. It is probably one of my favourite sets by him.

That's all from me.
Until next time. Stay smiling. :)

HELLO!
Just letting you guys know that planning for my US trip is going really well! I'm pretty much half way with buying accommodation and flights. I still have 2 more flights and accommodation for 3 cities to buy. I'm super duper excited and I know it's still 4 months away but there's still some planning, and lots of saving to do. I've also bought my travel insurance & ESTA so everything is starting to get real! I'm super afraid of the cold winter weather the US has installed for me though, I struggle so hard with the winter in Sydney, and Sydney winter does not prepare you for the rest of the winters out there. Until my next post, stay smiling! :)

20 FACTS ABOUT ME.

I got tagged on Instagram, but I decided to write this up as a blog post instead.

  1. I love singing! I'm not particularly sure why, but it definitely didn't start from a young age. I remember back in Year 3, my friend was always rubbing it in my face that she could sing and I felt that I couldn't - not that I'm saying I can now, but I don't think I'm tone deaf.
  2. My friends describe me as bubbly. And it's a kinda funny because I'm actually quite fragile, yet I still manage to keep my smile on.
  3. I really enjoy making small talk when I'm out because I think that little piece of conversation can make someone feel special.
  4. I am not particularly good at math or science, although I did chemistry, physics and 3U mathematics in Year 12.
  5. I think I really treasure my personal happiness, and I'm at a time in my life, where I've given up on trying to do things that I hate to please others.
  6. Having said that, I think there are some people in my extended family who don't really understand me, and hence I feel like I'm never going to meet their expectations. But I've moved past that.
  7. Making the change from Vision Science & Marketing to Psychology & HRM is probably one of the best decisions I've made in my life.
  8. Sometimes I lack self-confidence and I let those insecurities dictate my choices.
  9. I have 3 stretch marks on my back. Apparently it looks like a scar, and I am very tempted to tell people that I got clawed by a bear.
  10. I think sometimes I'm too nice, and people take advantage of that.
  11. I have successfully convinced multiple people that I am half Chinese and half Brazilian.
  12. I always try to make people feel included when I'm in a group because I know how hard it can be sometimes.
  13. Although I enjoy hanging out in groups, I enjoy talking to people one on one, I feel this fosters a more intimate relationship.
  14. On the weekends I work at an optical store, and help choose people choose glasses. I think I'm getting better at it, in fact I'm pretty sure in the first three months of work, I struggled to make a single sale.
  15. Last year I had my first plane trip all by myself, and since then I've traveled to Melbourne, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Hong Kong and I am planning at trip to the USA.
  16. I think sometimes I get caught up with doing work that I forget to stop and take a break and enjoy life with my friends & family.
  17. Although sometimes I let things get to me, I get over things pretty quickly, mostly after I've talked to someone about it.
  18. Sometimes instead of being an all-rounder I wish I was good at one-specific thing, that would set me a part from everyone else.
  19. I have a total of 4 piercings, 3 on my left ear and 1 on my right.
  20. I'm no longer in denial that my favourite colour is pink.
